I remember my late father's mother finding an old photograph of a grandfather or great grandfather and his wife in the garage. She said his finger was shot off in the Civil War. I remember my father saying my cousin now has the picture. My Grandmother Marion Norma Probert Hill passed away in 1986 at the age of 90. do not know which side of the family this ancestor was on. In her 0bituary her parents are Fred and Elizabeth (Duvoll) Probert. She was born Jamaica Plain (Boston), Ma. Her late ex-husband Louis Blanchard Hill goes back to the Mayflower's Perigrine White on his Mother, Nancy's side so it is likely I have ancestors that may have served in the Revolutionary War also !
